The role
We are seeking a talented Senior Research Associate to join the vibrant interdisciplinary research team (the AMR Force) to work on a large collaborative research project investigating antimicrobial resistance in livestock in Wales.
What will you be doing?
You will work with Welsh colleagues and veterinarians to collect and use data on antimicrobial use and resistance and their drivers on farms in Wales. You will act as a point of contact for the teams including veterinarians collecting samples on farms, microbiologists and partners collecting antimicrobial use data from farms.
You will be expected to assist with data collation and analysis as well as report writing. You will take part in impact events in Wales and more widely, including dissemination of outcomes to farmers, veterinarians, policy makers and other interested stakeholders, as well as academics.

You should apply if
- You have experience and understanding of UK ruminant farming
- You have experience in stewardship and analysis of data and/or in analysing longitudinal data appropriately in human or animal population studies
- You have experience of working in interdisciplinary teams and being able to manage multiple aspects to projects
- You have a postgraduate degree or equivalent research experience in biostatistics or epidemiology
It would be an advantage if:
- You have a veterinary qualification and preferably a postgraduate degree in epidemiology, biostatistics or a related quantitative discipline
- You have experience and interest in public engagement activities
- You have a track record of research resulting in peer-reviewed journal publications
- You have Welsh language skills
- You have experience and interest in working across multidisciplinary teams and participating in public engagement activities
