Full-time, continuing position available

Provide a range of administrative functions for the ordering, receiving, and inventory management of pharmaceuticals and clinical consumables to support a team of vets, nurses and students in an accredited veterinary teaching hospital.

The Veterinary Health Centre (VHC) is located on the University of Adelaide's Roseworthy Campus surrounded by great lifestyle opportunities including the Barossa Valley, beaches, sporting activities, benchmark schools and shopping facilities.

The VHC is the School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences' clinical teaching facility which operates on a commercial basis, offering a range of the first opinion, ambulatory and specialist veterinary services across all animal species to the general public and referring veterinarians. The VHC provides a clinical training environment for final year veterinary students working under the close supervision of experienced veterinary surgeons, nurses and support staff.

As a member of the Commercial Operations Support Team, the Pharmacy Administrator provides a range of administrative functions for the accurate and efficient ordering, receiving, and inventory management of pharmaceuticals and clinical consumables in accordance with established local protocols and University procedures. Working closely with VHC support staff, the role is key to supporting the delivery of high-quality veterinary services in a busy and dynamic clinical environment.

If you are an enthusiastic, team-oriented individual with a high level of attention to detail, have proven experience working in a busy, fast-paced administrative environment and the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines we would love to hear from you. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the drive to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, sensitivity and professional behaviour at all times. Experience in the veterinary industry and/or with large enterprise procurement systems is an advantage but not essential.

To be successful you will need:
  • Experience working with a high level of attention to detail and precision in data entry and record keeping.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of clinic staff.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a busy, fast-paced environment, prioritising and working to deadlines.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to act at all times with the confidentiality, sensitivity and professionalism required of a University clinical teaching environment.
  • Experience using the MS Office suite of programs, particularly Excel and Outlook.
