Through its ongoing Academic Transformation process, West Virginia University is creating a new College of Applied Human Sciences, by joining the College of Education and Human Services and the College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences. The new College will be in place on July 1, 2022. The new School of Counseling and Well-being that will be within the new College invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor position in Health and Well-being. The position appointment is for the Morgantown campus beginning August 2022. We are seeking a highly-qualified individual who will contribute to the mission of the institution by working with faculty, learners, and community partners in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will teach in-person and online courses in the Health and Well-being major. Primary courses for instruction include: Foundations of Health Education, Core Concepts in Health Education, Program Design, Implementation, and Evaluation for Health Educators and Enhancing Community Well-being. Candidate will be expected to provide service to the school, college, university, and profession.

Teaching positions at WVU are full-time, non-tenure track; this position does not include a research component.

This 9-month position will begin on August 12, 2022. Summer teaching opportunities may be available.

Qualifications that must be met by time of appointment.
• An earned doctoral degree in Health Education or a closely related area at time of appointment OR a master's degree in Health Education or a closely related area and extensive industry experience (at least three years) in the health and wellness profession.
• Demonstrated ability to teach college-aged populations.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.
• Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
• Evidence of innovative and effective teaching with adult learners including in an online format.

Preferred Qualifications.
• Evidence of Professional Certifications related to health and wellness.
