Our portfolio of life-changing technologies spans the spectrum of healthcare, with leading businesses and products in diagnostics, medical devices, nutritionals, and branded generic medicines. Our 109,000 colleagues serve people in more than 160 countries.

ABOUT ABBOTT DIAGNOSTICS:

The key to successful treatment and full recovery is often fast, accurate diagnosis. Abbott's life-changing tests and diagnostic tools provide insights that enable smarter, faster decisions and transform the way the world is managing health.

Our pioneering technology spans the world of healthcare operations - with medical diagnostic instruments, tests, automation and informatics solutions for hospitals, reference labs, blood centers, emergency departments, physician offices and clinics.

Our location in Santa Clara, California (would consider Irving, Texas) currently has an opportunity for a Senior Algorithm Engineer. Our brand-new hematology offering, the Alinity h-series, integrates hematology workflow, from high-throughput Complete Blood Count (CBC) analysis to automated slide making and staining. With a bi-directional, internal conveyor and a high throughput, it delivers high performance in one of the most compact footprints available.

The Alinity hq analyzer delivers a CBC with an expanded 6-part White Blood Cell (WBC) differential that includes routine and several advanced parameters using Advanced MAPSS (Multi Angle Polarized Scatter Separation) technology. With the Alinity hs slide maker stainer and the integrated robotic sample management, the Alinity h-series of systems delivers unprecedented uniformity, flexibility, operational productivity and confidence to our customers.

We are looking for a Senior Algorithm Engineer to develop the algorithms to deliver best in industry results from our new hematology platform. The Senior Algorithm Engineer will analyze current results, compare them to ground truth and define areas for the algorithm to improve. Then she/he will prototype new algorithms, demonstrate improved results and implement the new algorithm into the product code.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Develop new algorithms for blood cell classification using data modeling, mining, pattern analysis, data visualization and machine learning techniques.
  • Excellent programming skills are required - Algorithm development in R, Python and capable of translating algorithms into C++ for production quality code.
