The role
The School for Policy Studies is seeking to appoint a Professor in Nutrition and Health or Professor in Physical Activity and Health to expand and complement our current excellent teaching, research and impact activities in this area. The School has an exceptional reputation and the appointee will join an ambitious and collegial School that pushes forward intellectual debates and real-world solutions to a range of policy and social dilemmas within an interdisciplinary environment. We are looking for ambitious research-active scholars with a strong trajectory of producing excellent work, including those who may not currently hold a Chair.
What will you be doing?
The successful applicant will be engaged in research, teaching and administration. With expertise in nutrition or physical activity, they will be delivering on a distinctive research agenda though strong publications; externally funded grants; and collaborative working with colleagues and external organisations. They will be delivering a high quality student experience in a university context across all levels. They will be highly collegial, lead by example and have an appetite for developing both their own career and the development of the wider School.
You should apply if
you have: previous experience to conduct the role with high levels of professionalism and collegiality; a world-leading and internationally excellent research portfolio and a strong commitment to teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level; excellent interpersonal, communication and team working skills, and a proven ability to build networks and partnerships; evidence of excellent citizenship and academic leadership with the ability to motivate and develop others; demonstrable commitment to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.
