We are currently searching for a Research Associate, Sequencing to provide support to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is a full-time position with MSC and it is on-site in Hamilton, MT.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare and QC RNA and DNA samples for sequencing.
  • Perform routine maintenance, operation and troubleshooting of Sanger sequencer, Illumina sequencers, and PCR instruments.
  • Perform quantitative PCR assays.
  • Assist in general lab duties, such as cleaning lab, stocking supplies, ordering reagents.
  • Keep detailed records of experimental procedures.
  • Assist customers with sequencing projects.
  • Perform a variety of laboratory experiments, such as Sterile technique, Pipetting, PCR, Gel electrophoresis, Plasmid purification, Tissue culture and/or bacterial culture, Media preparation, Restriction enzyme digestion, RNA/DNA purification, DNA/RNA spectrophotometry.
  • Maintain records using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of work experience.
  • Familiar with Bioinformatics/Sequence analysis, MS Office.
