The University Librarian reports to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice- President (Academic) and provides strategic leadership and high level management in relation to all aspects of the Library's services and development. Working in close collaboration with senior leaders and a wide range of stakeholders across the institution, the University Librarian is responsible for the operational effectiveness and enhancement of the Library's services, systems, collections and facilities to ensure alignment with the University's strategic plan. This role provides the opportunity to lead and take forward a highly regarded library in one of Australia's leading universities.
The University is seeking expressions of interest from candidates with the passion to contribute to Adelaide's bold vision for a leading edge, forward looking academic library underpinned by the use of technology. They will need demonstrated experience at the strategic level employing digital technologies, ideally in an academic and/or research context. Highly developed financial and people management skills should include the ability to lead change and further embed a customer centric service ethos within relevant teams. Proven experience in collection development, including the development of digital assets and the ability to further enhance the profile of the University both locally and internationally are considered important.
