Cornish College of the Arts is looking for a Dean of Enrollment Management and Marketing to guide all aspects of admission and enrollment across all programs for the school. They will lead and manage the Admission and Financial Aid teams, including enrollment marketing, recruitment, admission operations, financial aid, student employment, and scholarships. The Dean will be responsible for the overall enrollment strategy at Cornish and will oversee a coordinated enrollment approach across all areas of the institution. The Dean will report directly to the President, and work collaboratively with the Provost, Vice President of Finance/CFO, Dean of Student Affairs, Communications, and the academic departments on all matters relating to student recruitment and enrollment.

  • Strategically plans for and implements innovative and prudent practices, policies, and initiatives to recruit, admit, and yield students in alignment with strategic enrollment goals, meeting enrollment objectives, academic program priorities, and financial targets across Cornish academic programs
  • Supervises the offices of Admission and Financial Aid
  • Develops recruitment marketing strategies for domestic and international students to support an incremental growth plan
  • Works with multiple stakeholders on marketing analysis and on the strategic positioning of the college to support increased growth in qualified applications for admission
  • Works in close partnership with the advancement team to create innovative revenue-generating strategies to support accessibility and affordability including strategies for institutional scholarships
  • Evaluates current processes, technology, and use of resources to determine more innovative approaches to achieve the intended enrollment goals
  • Provides enrollment data and analysis to the President, Provost, Vice President of Finance/CFO and academic leaders on competing programs and new initiatives in arts education
  • Maintains financial aid/merit awarding methodologies to maximize yield of admitted students
  • Works collaboratively with the Provost, Communications, and the academic departments on recruitment publications, website, and initiatives
  • Works collaboratively with the Dean of Student Affairs to ensure connections between recruitment and retention and to provide oversight and leadership for global enrollment issues
  • Serves as a member of the President's Cabinet
  • Other duties as assigned by the President

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree plus significant experience in higher education enrollment management
  • Served in increasingly responsible managerial positions in admission and/or enrollment, ideally within a selective institutional setting
  • A record of success in achieving institutional enrollment goals, including recruiting diverse and international student bodies
  • Experience managing multiple program offerings and implementing best practices to address national enrollment trends and the changing landscape of higher education
  • Experience advancing new enrollment processes, systems, and technologies by collaborating across functions and with other campuses or programs
  • Success employing outcomes and metrics-based, creative marketing strategies to achieve enrollment goals
  • Expertise in effectively implementing and managing technology and systems (such as predictive modeling) to capture and support data-driven enrollment, admission, and aid decisions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a flexible and adaptable working style with an ability to build positive and effective relationships with colleagues and the community
  • Experience in social media and online marketing initiatives
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office and Google Suite proficiency, and knowledge of/experience with student information systems
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand and utilize information gleaned from information systems and institutional research
  • Knowledge of financial aid operations and fiscal responsibility
  • Demonstrated capacity for strategic planning
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate staff and work collaboratively at all levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree
  • Experience in a non-profit setting and/or arts environment
  • Evidence of successful recruitment marketing campaigns
  • Knowledge of and experience with predictive modeling, financial aid leveraging and institutional research in areas pertinent to enrollment management
  • Experience working with Slate, PowerFaids, Izenda, and Jenzabar
