Our location in Columbus, OH, currently has an opportunity for a Research Operator. In Research & Development (R&D) our ambition is providing innovative high-quality products, creating sustainable value, delivering superior user experience and enhancing health outcomes at all stages of life.

The Front-Line Leader (FLL) is responsible for supervising the operation of the Process Research Center (PRC). The FLL is expected to provide effective leadership, direction, development, and support of all subordinates to establish a resourceful manufacturing environment. The FLL will operate within fiscal constraints, adhere to employee health and safety guidelines, maintain effective employee relations, support quality system, and ensure adherence to cGMP's.

The Supervisor is accountable to the PRC Manager for controlling budget, payroll and capital of at least $1MM. The Supervisor responsibility impacts all nutritional products produced in the PRC and the preservation of the company's continued well-being through compliance to regulations and avoidance of major business interruptions from regulatory agencies such as the FDA.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system
  • Ensures compliance to all procedures and policies addressing quality, regulatory, safety, and human resources
  • Reviews work order documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Ensures timely and relevant communications to and from all levels of the organization
  • Coaches, develops and mentors employees in areas of responsibility
  • Responsible for recruitment, selection and retention of employees
  • Coordinates execution of the Environmental Monitoring program
  • Ensures completion of required training for all employees
  • Acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for policies, process documents, standard operating procedures, forms, templates, and/or guidelines
  • Support capital plan, helping to ensure projects are completed successfully, on time, and within approved budgets
  • Foster team environment through development/implementation of improved work practices
  • Provide leadership, direction, planning and execution of PRC area activities per established R&D business unit priorities

Minimum Education/Professional Experience:

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, Manufacturing or Technical field or equivalent is preferred

Preferred:
  • Five years of experience in a plant production environment (preferably within drug, food or beverage manufacturing) and two years of experience in a leadership position (preferred).
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula, adult nutrition, and performance nutrition. Knowledge of food processing techniques, documentation requirements, and six-sigma (business excellence).
  • Effective interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to effectively lead in a team environment, adaptable to change, able to manage competing priorities and excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
