Position Type 2-year term faculty position Position Description The School of Global Public Health (GPH) of New York University is preparing for the next generation of public health pioneers with the critical thinking skills, acumen and entrepreneurial approaches necessary to reinvent the public health paradigm. GPH aims to improve health worldwide through a unique blend of global public health studies, research and practice. GPH offers academic degrees at the undergraduate, masters and doctoral levels. The undergraduate program includes 13 joint majors where students study public health with other relevant subjects. The CEPH-accredited Master of Public Health degree allows students to obtain an MPH in one of nine concentrations, and the PhD in Public Health is offered in one of four areas of study - Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Social & Behavioral Sciences, and Public Health Policy & Management. In addition, a new school-wide, interdisciplinary DrPH degree will launch in September 2021. NYU has an extensive global network of teaching and research sites throughout the world. These sites include three portal campuses and 11 global academic centers in Africa, South America, China, Australia, Europe and the Middle East. This unique arrangement allows the school to establish and collaborate on training and degree programs and research efforts worldwide, offers faculty and students truly unique opportunities to engage in their research and study around the world, and informs public health practice both locally and globally through the exchange of knowledge. The Program in Public Health Nutrition of GPH is seeking applications for a non-tenure track Visiting Assistant Professor faculty position. Candidates are expected to have: (1) a doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, DrPH, MD) in an area related to Public Health Nutrition, and (2) teaching experience in nutrition. The Program in Public Health Nutrition focuses on promoting health and reducing the risk of chronic diseases and obesity through educational and environmental approaches. The program offers an MPH degree. Faculty in the program also participate in a school-wide, newly-launched DrPH degree. The Program is interested in recruiting an outstanding faculty member who can strengthen and contribute to our course offerings. We are strongly committed to promoting diversity and supporting students, staff and faculty from underrepresented backgrounds.
