Description of Position

* Position start date January 2022*

The Instructional Lab Aide - Nursing Program will provide support to the nursing skills lab instructors for NSG 143 and NSG 153 for student competency skills check offs on the Prescott Campus, with periodic travel to the Verde Campus for student competency skills check offs; gathering supplies and assisting the instructors with tasks and preparing the skills lab. Minimum Expectations & Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nursing and at least of three years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care. Any combination of equivalent education and experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.

* Must hold current license to practice registered nursing in the state of Arizona.
* Thorough knowledge and experience in technical procedures, supplies, and equipment in nursing practice.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to think critically, creatively, problem-solve, and coordinate activities.
* Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and schedule priorities effectively.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently, responsibly with minimal supervision.
* Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality. Knowledge of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.
* Assist and support students in the practice of nursing skills and remediation activities under the guidance/direction of the nursing faculty.
* Provides student orientation to lab resources.
* Assists as needed in taking inventory of nursing skills supplies.
* Recommend, organize, and assist in gathering appropriate supplies for the skills lab. Assist the instructor in maintaining the skills lab for student skills practice, scenarios and sessions.
* Knowledge of MS, email, and the Internet.
* Perform other related skills lab duties as assigned.
