Are you an academic with proven abilities to carry out teaching in the area of Religious Studies, with specialisms in Religion and Gender, and Social Research Methods?
Are you passionate about delivering an exceptional student experience in a research-intensive Russell Group University?
Would you like to join and contribute to the vibrant Religious Studies community, which is embedded within the interdisciplinary School of Philosophy, Religion and History of Science?
As Teaching Fellow you will carry out teaching in the area of Religious Studies, including modules on Religion, Gender and Sexuality and Research Methods. It is also essential that you should be able to lead or contribute to a variety of our undergraduate modules, such as 'Introduction to the Study of Religions', 'Religion in Modern Britain', 'Religion, Politics and Society in the Modern World', 'Studying Religion in Context', 'Religion, Gender and Society' and 'Religions and Global Development'.
You will be asked to lead the Level 1 module 'Introduction to the Study of Religions' and the Master's modules 'Religion and Society: Research Process and Methods' and 'Religion, Gender and Sexuality'; in addition, you will be asked to contribute to other modules in the area of Religious Studies. Teaching on these other modules will be done collaboratively.
You will be asked to undertake the normal range of duties that arise in connection with the teaching of undergraduate and taught Master's modules, including lecturing, seminars, dissertation supervision and assessment, and will be able to teach at all levels of our varied programmes. Additionally, you will participate in and contribute to activities coordinated by the vibrant Centre for Religion and Public Life.
You will have submitted your PhD thesis (or be very close to submitting it) in the area of Religious Studies and have relevant subject expertise and teaching experience.
