Molecular Biologist - Research Position Overview ATL is seeking a dynamic Molecular Biologist - Research to join our team of dedicated professionals focused on client service and quality. Major Responsibilities: * Process clinical samples from human subjects, including: RNA extraction and purification, Multiplexed RT-PCR, quality control analysis * Assay development to measure various endpoints for samples provided (must be able to design a non-commercially available assay using literature to determine appropriate parameters). * Basic data interpretation & troubleshooting/optimization of predefined methods * Record data in electronic notebooks * General lab maintenance * Perform other essential tasks, projects, and responsibilities as required Requirements: * Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology or related discipline with demonstrated molecular biology experience either through an industry or academic research position * At least 3 months of laboratory experience practicing high complexity testing (e.g. qPCR, microarrays, microbial typing) * Must be comfortable working with potentially biohazardous materials, experience working in a BSL-2 laboratory preferred * Candidates need to be self-starters; capable of working independently and directing their own day-to-day workload with minimal supervision * Proven consistent pipetting skills and aseptic technique. * Must have strong attention to detail and time management skills. * Strong written and oral communications skills.
