Job Description:

The Division of Kinesiology within the School of Kinesiology and Physical Therapy (SKPT) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a clinical assistant or associate professor with a focus in clinical exercise physiology. The position is a 9-month, non-tenure earning faculty appointment with a projected start date of August 2022.

The Division of Kinesiology at UCF resides within the College of Health Professions and Sciences, which is a core component of the UCF Academic Health Sciences Center (AHSC) along with the College of Medicine, College of Nursing, UCF Health, UCF Student Health, and the recent addition of a teaching hospital, the UCF Lake Nona Medical Center. The Division of Kinesiology includes undergraduate (B.S.) and graduate (M.S. and Ph.D.) degree programs and plans to develop a graduate-level clinical exercise physiology track.

The individual selected for this position will teach undergraduate and graduate courses as well as participate in service and other support activities within the developing clinical exercise physiology M.S. track.

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned doctorate in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Health Science, Rehabilitation Science, or a related field from an accredited institution. Applicants must have current national-level certification in clinical exercise physiology.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants who have work experience in the field of clinical exercise physiology, university-level teaching experience, prior involvement with accreditation processes, expertise in the direction of student internships, and relevant certifications, such as the NSCA Certified Special Population Specialist (CSPS), and/or one or more ACSM credentials, such as Exercise is Medicine, Inclusive Fitness Trainer, or Cancer Exercise Trainer.
