George Mason University and Georgetown University maintain a partnership in graduate biomedical education, and we are seeking individuals to serve as Term Instructors in the Advanced Biomedical Sciences graduate certificate program at the Science and Technology campus of George Mason University in Manassas, VA. About the Position:

These full-time positions, beginning mid-August 2021, are an opportunity for energetic and talented scholars who are interested in further developing their teaching skills by working with students enrolled in a biomedical graduate certificate program.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct recitations, reviews, and facilitated learning sessions;
  • Provide instructional support for course directors;
  • Assist the Program Director in administration of the program including Data Management;
  • Participate in the planning and execution of student activities outside of the classroom;
  • Student advising and teaching;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of an M.S. in Physiology or a related field prior to the start date of the position.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Some teaching experience in the sciences at the secondary or higher education level, especially medical related courses;
  • Experience with premedical advising and/or graduate programs;
  • Familiarity with hybrid learning/flipped classroom learning;
  • Familiarity with lecture capture technology and supporting online course materials.
