Job Description:

The Department of Biology at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a non-tenure earning, one-year, visiting, non-renewable instructor or lecturer position anticipated to begin January 2022.

The selected candidate will have a commitment to teaching and experience in active learning strategies for large 150-400 student in-person classrooms. The candidate will be required to teach three in-person courses each semester: Genetics and Marine Biology and/or Ecology. Additionally, we are especially interested in an individual who can contribute through their teaching and service to the diversity and excellence of our academic community and foster an environment in which faculty, staff and students from a variety of backgrounds, cultures and personal experiences are welcomed and can thrive.

The Department of Biology offers a wide variety of biology courses and majors can choose among six tracks within the major. Minimum Qualifications:

For an instructor rank, candidate must hold a master's degree in Biology or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the date of hire. For a lecturer rank, candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the date of hire. In addition, the successful applicant will have at least 2 years of in-person teaching experience in a college environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to the candidate who can contribute to upper division courses such as Molecular Cell Biology.
