Overview

The Center for Immuno-Oncology (CIO) of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking applications for a research scientist within the Tissue Biomarker Laboratory. The laboratory is dedicated to the development and implementation of novel analytical methods applicable for the study of tumor immunity using human biopsy samples. Techniques in routine use include multiplex immunofluorescence coupled with digital image analysis, targeted gene expression profiling, and customized fluorescence in situ hybridization assays that are applied to fixed biopsy samples from patients receiving immune checkpoint blockade, CAR-T cells, and novel immune therapies. The laboratory has also been validating multiplex ion beam imaging (MIBI) coupled with computational image analysis as the next-generation tool for highly multiplexed tissue imaging.

The Tissue Biomarker Laboratory serves the clinical/translational needs of DFCI investigators, is a member of the NIH-sponsored Human Tumor Atlas Network, and an NIH-sponsored Cancer Immune Monitoring and Analysis Center. Over the past 5 years, the laboratory has contributed to over 50 publications (http://(see application details) It is anticipated that the breadth and scope of the laboratory will grow along with advances in tissue analysis and immunotherapies to maintain the goal of gaining a deep and thorough knowledge of human tumor immunology.
