  • Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret materials related to area of expertise; ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from students, employees and members of the business
    community; ability to effectively present information to students, employees, and the business community.
  • Mathematical Skills
    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and all software programs related to courses to be taught.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Faculty must have required certificates, licenses and registrations required for the course(s) they are to teach.


Education and requirements:
  • Masters of Science in Nursing
  • Registered California RN license
  • 3 years of RN experience
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Direct patient care experience within the previous five (5) years in the nursing area to which he or she is assigned, which can be met by
  • One (1) year's continuous, full-time or its equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse in the designated nursing area or
  • One (1) academic year of registered nurse level clinical teaching experience in the designated nursing area or its equivalent that demonstrates clinical competency * (3) completion of at least one year's experience teaching courses related to registered nursing or completion of a post-baccalaureate course which includes practice in teaching registered nursing
