The College of Education at Northern Arizona University is seeking to fill several tenure-track Assistant Professor positions across five academic departments at the Flagstaff Mountain Campus starting August 2022. Five of the six positions are part of a cluster hire. Aligned with NAU's mission "to develop solutions to challenges and drive innovation in a supportive, inclusive, and diverse environment ," the College of Education seeks to build on our strength in preparing culturally responsive educators. We are hiring five new tenure-track faculty who are experienced or emergent researchers, committed to addressing diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and access in Arizona PK-20 educational institutions. These faculty positions are part of a new initiative at NAU to foster equity and to promote the success of our diverse undergraduate and graduate student populations. Successful applicants will have a doctoral degree in areas of need as identified in the qualifications section, a record of research productivity, and a commitment to undergraduate and/or graduate teaching and mentoring. We particularly encourage applications from individuals who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color), disabled, and/or LGBTQ+.

With Arizona's changing demographics, the largest population of students in the state's public schools are Latinx, and along with Indigenous students representing 22 federally recognized tribes, the College of Education is focused on preparing individuals who can contribute to academic preparedness, positive educational outcomes, school climate, and fostering college-going and completion rates in economically and racially diverse communities. We seek candidates who ground their work in issues of equity, power, and justice to contribute to the College's goal of developing professionals who implement anti-racist, culturally responsive, inclusive, and equitable practices. Relevant background for the positions includes expertise in one or more issues of race, culture, class, gender, language, disability and sexuality. Successful candidates will have experience and a research focus centering Indigenous and/or Latinx communities, issues, histories, and/or epistemologies. The following tenure-track Assistant Professor positions are included in this cluster hire:
