The Clinical Research Assistant (RA) works as part of a multi-disciplinary team performing administrative activities for research protocols in a dedicated clinical trials unit at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. This position requires daily interaction with physician-investigators and other research personnel. The RA performs routine protocol activities within the unit's policies and procedures and protocol requirements. The RA uses judgment in determining the needs of research staff and study participants and works to meet that need. The incumbent will also assist with the coordination of the unit's administrative and operational tasks. The RA works responsibly, accurately, and independently under the supervision of the clinical trial unit's management. The position is expected to perform multiple tasks with a high level of attention to detail. Responsibilities * Prepare study materials for patient visits including lab kits and visit schedules * Organize patient charts for research coordinators * Assist with documentation management and audit readiness activities * Request transportation services for patient follow up activities as needed * Prepare checks for study visits * Courier research specimens and related supplies at varying locations across the Fred Hutch / Seattle Cancer Care Alliance / UW Medical Center campus * Maintain specimen supply, shipping supply, and chart supply inventories * Assist the COVID-19 Clinical Research Center (CCRC) team with administrative duties and team related tasks as needed Qualifications Minimum qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent * Ability to adapt and adjust priorities based on changing needs, strong written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to review and reconcile data in reports * Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality * Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite * Ability to work weekends upon request Preferred qualifications: * Associate or Bachelor's degree * Preferred experience with research in a work or academic setting In addition to job duties at Fred Hutch, this position also requires access to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, which requires COVID-19 vaccination without exceptions.Accordingly, as a condition of employment for this Fred Hutch position, newly hired employees must provide proof of vaccination before their first day of employment.
