JOB DESCRIPTION:

Functions as the primary support person to the Nurse Manager for the direction and coordination of nursing care for a specific patient care unit. The ANM collaborates with the nurse manager in assessment and planning for nursing care. She/he carries out the responsibilities of the nurse manager in her/his absence with guidance from the Administrative Director. The Assistant Nurse Manager participates in hiring and evaluation of staff. The Assistant Nurse Manager collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective operations of the nursing unit.
  • Experience with supervision of a diverse team
  • Birthing experience required, prefer ante and post partum care experience
  • Ability to lead a diverse team on the night shift to support flow of patients to NICU, MBU and birthing units
  • Support novice staff learning opportunities and support growth and development
  • Support communication and resolve issues between interdisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrate autonomy and self-direction
  • Collaborate with leaders within birthing team, MBU and NICU
  • Work with ANC to coordinate staffing, patients flow and communication
  • Follow up and resolve issues that arise on the night shift
  • Highly attuned to safety and quality initiatives and able to support staff in unit changes

EDUCATION:

State of Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Bachelors in Nursing Required

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of three years of appropriate nursing experience relevant to the clinical specialty of the unit.

This position is eligible for the following shift differentials:

$2.50 - Evening

$5.25 - Night

$5.45 - Weekend - Evening

$8.20 - Weekend - Night
