Responsible for providing academic instruction to students in accordance with approved curricula in the absence of the regular instructor. Work as part of the training team and assist in coordinating academic instruction and social development in compliance with government, corporate, and management directives. Essential Duties Job Functions: + Provide students with academic instruction in any of the following areas: + Academic classrooms. + Career Technical Training classrooms. + Motivate and counsel students in the areas of behavior, training, and /or study habits. + Coordinate with other industry team members to resolve issues affecting student training. + Follow lesson plans from instructors. Develop and prepare lessons as needed. + Participate in student performance evaluations.Prepare required documentation and evaluations. + Administer and correct tests and assignments. Maintain progress and attendance reports. + Control use of supplies, materials, and equipment.Recommend purchases as needed. + Assist in developing community linkages and partnerships. + Access and use computers and applicable software. + Teach, model, and evaluate employability skills. + Develop and coordinate enrichment programs as assigned. + Maintain accountability of students and property. Adhere to safety practices. + Cultivate and maintain a climate on Center which is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn. + Monitor student progress in the program by ensuring compliance with established corporate and DOL data integrity guidelines. + Promote student attainment of career success standards through modeling appropriate skills, mentoring students, monitoring skill acquisition, and intervening when inappropriate behavior is observed. + Perform other related duties as assigned. Accountable For: + Completing all mandated training requirements per government and management directives. + Timely and cost effective performance of duties. + Ability to effectively communicate and present information to students, management and line staff, corporate and DOL personnel and public groups. + Strong analytical skills to interpret and manage data. + Ability to develop rapport and positive working relationships with all departments. + Timely completion and accuracy of all departmental work. + Dealing with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations. + Adherence to established company safety policies and ability to work in a safe manner, using any required personal protective equipment (PPE) as may be required. + Compliance with company standard operating procedures and personnel policies and procedures. Mandatory: + Bachelor's degree from a four (4) year college or university in related field. + Four years of industry related experience may be substituted in lieu of education. + Two (2) years' experience in the career technical training field. + Successfully pass background check and drug test. + Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred: + Illinois Teaching Certificate. + Previous substitute teaching experience.
