JOB DUTIES:

We are seeking well-trained computer scientists who can rigorously apply AI&AS techniques and principles to areas such as social media algorithms, robotics, computer sensing and vision, autonomous systems and vehicles, automobile cybersecurity, blockchain technology, computational biology, genomics, and bioinformatics. The successful candidate is required to teach graduate and undergraduate courses as assigned, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and establish a strong, externally-funded research program in his/her area of expertise. In addition, the successful candidate will also contribute to the department, college, and university functions. Because this position is in a cutting-edge discipline, the successful candidate is required to work in a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative environment across departments and colleges.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Applicants must hold an earned doctorate in computer science or a closely related field with expertise in AI&AS and one of the aforementioned areas of study and strong coding skills. Postdoctoral experience is strongly desired. Successful candidates must have a record of high-quality scholarship and demonstrate the potential in both research and teaching, commensurate with their experience. Successful candidates will possess a record of, or genuine commitment to, diversity, inclusion, and equity in line with the college's overall vision. A record of engaging in interdisciplinary research or work experience in industry/government is a plus. All candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills, the potential to establish an externally-funded research program in an area of expertise, work in a collaborative environment, and the motivation to support the student-centered culture of LTU.

Lawrence Technological University (LTU) conducts pre-employment screening on initial candidates for all positions, which may include but is not limited to, a criminal background check, verification of academic credentials, license, certifications, and/or verification of work history.
