Teach and advise students in human nutrition courses and human nutrition majors.

First Consideration Date for Applicants: 01/31/2022

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Teach and advise undergraduate students majoring in Human Nutrition. Courses may include: Food Science with lab, Food Preparation with lab, Infant and Child Nutrition, Scientific Foundations of Human Nutrition, Sports Nutrition, and Intuitive Eating vs Disordered Eating with a willingness to adjust classes with possible future program development.

2. Primary emphasis is on teaching. However, scholarly activity, professional commitment, and service to the university are expected and required for advancement.

3. Collaborate with colleagues to evaluate and accommodate changes and improvements within the department, college, and university.

4. Initiate and carry out appropriate scholarly work in human nutrition, including mentoring undergraduate research students.

5. Participate in department and campus community committees as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

1. PhD preferred in human nutrition/dietetics or closely related field from an accredited university. Non-tenure track position.

2. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist required. RD licensure needs to be obtained from the United States.

3. Experience teaching at the university level is preferred.

4. Workload expectation (80% teaching, 20% service and scholarship).

5. Ability to work as a mentor in undergraduate research.

6. Ability to incorporate technology into teaching.

7. Ability to incorporate experiential education into teaching.

8. Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills and a team player.

9. Involvement with professional organizations. Desire and ability to maintain currency in the field.

In accordance with Utah State Code 53A-3-410, appointment to this position is contingent upon the successful passing of a background check.
