Dordt University is currently seeking a faculty member to teach introductory and upper division historical and thematic courses in Philosophy. The department seeks a candidate with competencies in one or more of the following: history of philosophy, Reformational philosophy, continental philosophy, or aesthetics. Qualifications include an understanding of the nature and present role of philosophy within the curriculum and as articulated in the content of Core 200: Introduction to Christian Philosophy. In addition to teaching, this position will participate in curriculum review and development, advising of students, and assigned committee work. An earned doctoral degree in philosophy is preferred; a master's degree is required. Preference will be given to candidates with an earned doctoral degree in Philosophy. A master's degree and significant professional experience are minimal requirements.

In addition to teaching, this position would include participation as a full team member in department and college administrative tasks (including curriculum development and review, assessment, development of new initiatives, student recruiting and advising, and committee assignments).
