Job Description:
Support and collaborate with research into population science, economics, social welfare, and policy related to global fertility and mortality, with special focus on (a) low fertility rates and negative population growth, (b) mortality in India, and (c) population and social welfare.

General Notes

Position currently funded for 12 months starting June 1, 2021 through May 31, 2022 with the possibility of continuation based on need. Position to support and collaborate with research into population science, economics, social welfare, and policy related to global fertility and mortality, with special focus on (a) low fertility rates and negative population growth, (b) mortality in India, and (c) population and social welfare.

Responsibilities
  • Organized and systematic literature review.
  • Quantitative empirical research
  • Scholarly writing.
  • Assist in the coordination of a global team of researchers, collaborators, and research assistants, including: assistance in the managing and monitoring of research assistants (quantitative and qualitative); long-term project tracking and management; assistance and collaboration in organizing scholarly conferences and other travel.

Required Qualifications
  • Graduate training in population science or a closely related subfield of economics, sociology, or public policy.
  • Stata and Latex.
  • High-quality English writing, speaking, and reading.
  • Superb motivation, commitment and initiative.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • R software
  • Experience with high-quality non-technical writing in English for general audiences and policy
  • Research in a related field.

Salary Range

$46,000+ depnding on qualifications
