About This Position

The Department of Ophthalmology, in conjunction with the Interdisciplinary Stem Cell Institute, at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, has an exciting opportunity for a full time Postdoctoral Associate in ocular iPSC models and 3D epigenomics.

This exciting position will embark on research projects utilizing iPSCs to investigate the epigenetics of ocular cell differentiation and pathologies. Prefer a candidate with some experience with iPSC culture and differentiation protocols, and/or extensive cell culturing experience, some bioinformatic experience and interest, experience with PCR/qPCR, western blotting, and as well as other standard lab techniques. Bioinformatic knowledge (R, Python, pipeline development) and interest are highly desired. The candidate will have the opportunity to work in a modern and state-of-the-art laboratory, and utilize methods including ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, single cell sequencing, Hi-C, and Hi-ChIP, alongside other epigenetic techniques to uncover chromatin dynamics of cell differentiation and ocular pathologies. A strong team orientated work style, open communication, and independent thinking are key requirements. The candidate will receive ample opportunity for creativity, growth and individual development.

Minimum Qualifications

+ Ph.D. or other doctoral degree in a biological science or health discipline

+ Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.

+ Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

+ Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
