*Summary*Barry University, College of Nursing and Health Sciences is currently seeking a Professor of Nursing. This position meets the qualifications and assumes the responsibilities of a faculty member, coordinates the curriculum within each program, directs the efforts of the teaching team, and represents the program in the school, university and community.
*Essential Functions*
* Plans, with the Dean, Associate Deans, Chair, and other directors, for the needs of the academic program and the College.

* Seeks/maintains accreditation status for the program.

* Coordinates the attainment of the curriculum objectives.

* Participates in developing and maintaining program policies and procedures that are consistent with the overall mission of University and College and compliant with accreditation standards and other regulatory agencies.

* Assists the Dean/Associate Dean in planning a Program budget that supports academic quality.

* Participates in the development and implementation of a strategic plan that includes the accreditation, regulatory, instructional, and budgetary components of the total program.

* Organizes the teaching responsibilities of the program faculty.

* Recruits, interviews, orients, supervises, and evaluates faculty and staff.

* Coordinates analysis of data regarding program and student learning outcomes.

* Oversees student recruitment, brand marketing, and public relations for the program and collaborates with the Manager of CNHS Enrollment, Alumni and Marketing.

* Oversees evaluation of student performance based on pre-determined educational objectives.

* Oversees student clinical record management and reviews student progress with the Clinical Instructors and Liaisons.

* When appropriate, engages in clinical practice to maintain professional skills and serve as a model/resource for faculty and students.

* Oversees program records maintenance.

* Oversees clinical/fieldwork/internship affiliation agreements and other contractual relationships.

* Assists the Dean in writing of grants and acquiring funding for new services and programs.

* Performs other duties as assigned by the Dean.

*Qualifications/Requirements*
* Terminal degree in health related field;

* National certification in area of specification; and

* Ongoing record of scholarly achievement (i.e. presentations, publications, submitting grant proposals).

* Holds rank of at least Professor.

* At least three years of experience in the specialty area.

* Preparation for teaching through education or at least three years of teaching experience.

* Competent in professional area as evidenced by recommendations from previous employer(s).

* Demonstrates continued professional development.

* Holds active membership in professional organizations as appropriate.
