Carolina University, Winston Salem, NC, is seeking to appoint an innovative and dynamic academic leader for its School of Arts & Sciences. The university has been experiencing rapid growth thanks to the addition of new programs in areas including computer science, biology, engineering, public health, sociology, psychology, criminal justice, data science, and counseling. The aforementioned programs are housed in the School of Arts & Sciences and the appointee will be responsible for program administration, supervision of faculty, oversight of teaching and learning, and engagement. This is a terrific opportunity for a highly skilled academic leader to contribute to the further development of innovative programs. The position will report to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs.

*Duties include*:

* Assuming responsibility for the development, implementation, and growth of programs within the School.

* Providing administrative and academic leadership and supervision of faculty and staff within the School.

* Implementing scheduling, assessment, documentation of results, program and course learning outcomes assessments, program reviews, improvement plans, and reporting to internal and external bodies.

* Administering performance reviews and providing mentorship to faculty and staff.

* Serving on committees, producing reports, responding to student and faculty issues, engagement with external accrediting agencies and other stakeholders.

* Teaching assigned courses and performing other assigned duties.

*Required qualifications*

The candidate must possess a PhD from a leading university in one of the areas of instruction in the School. Ideally, the candidate must have experience as a department chair or program director in a university and demonstrate a track record of excellent performance. The candidate must be familiar with accreditation processes, program reviews, budgeting, and related matters. It is expected that the candidate will possess excellent communication skills, data analysis capabilities, and a record of managing change.
