Position SummaryGannon University's Villa Maria School of Nursing located at the Erie, Pennsylvania campus seeks a teaching track faculty member at a rank commensurate with teaching experience. This full-time, 9-month position will begin upon hire. Gannon University seeks excellence through inclusiveness and invites members of underrepresented groups to apply.

Gannon University's teaching track faculty work collaboratively with colleagues, deliver instruction, advise students, and participate in service. Established as one of the first baccalaureate nursing programs in Pennsylvania, the Villa Maria School of Nursing houses a large undergraduate BSN program as well as three graduate programs, all of which have earned full CCNE accreditation. Faculty are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, as assigned, and aligned with faculty expertise.
Required QualificationsQualified candidates must have an earned MSN degree and be licensed or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in Pennsylvania. Evidence of teaching experience in higher education (i.e. service as a full-time, part-time, and/or clinical preceptor) with documented evidence of teaching effectiveness and a minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing experience are required.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate contemporary expertise in medical surgical nursing.

Candidates must display effective interpersonal and written and oral communication skills, and an ability to be an effective team member.

Candidates must be able to support and promote the University's inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity, and its liberal arts and professional education traditions.
Preferred QualificationsCandidates with experience teaching at the baccalaureate level and interest in pursuing doctoral education are preferred.

Experience embedding simulation into the undergraduate nursing curricula and online course development and delivery are desired.
Physical DemandsCandidates must be able to meet the physical and technical demands of busy office, classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings. This position may require the ability to travel independently to clinical sites and communicate effectively with clinical preceptors.
