ROLE of the POSITION

The Department of Kinesiology & Nutrition Sciences at UNLV is searching for a Lecturer to contribute to our Nutrition and Dietetics programs. Applicants should demonstrate the ability to teach across a broad spectrum of nutrition-related topics such as introductory nutrition, community nutrition, nutritional pathophysiology, nutrition counseling, and food science. Applicants with expertise in community nutrition programs, nutrition counseling, and food insecurity are preferred. This is a state funded, 9-month, non-tenure-track, career path position. The anticipated start date is January 1, 2022. The department currently serves more than 1,500 students in seven programs. The Lecturer position will be expected to deliver 12 credit hours of instruction each semester and summer teaching may be available for extra compensation.

Strong candidates will provide evidence of innovative instruction or course development, including program assessment and experience with retention, progression, and completion initiatives for all students in the programs. The ability to work with a collaborative teaching team, utilizing technology and learning management systems in course delivery and experience teaching online and in traditional classroom courses is desired.

VACCINATION MANDATE POLICY

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires the minimum of a Master's Degree in Nutrition from a regionally accredited college or university, and three years of experience in higher education instruction. Applicants must hold the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential and be eligible for dietetics licensure in Nevada at the time of hire. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

SALARY RANGE

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
