SCHEDULE: PRN/Per Diem

Medical City Healthcare Resource Float Pool East Pod Registered Nurse / RN - (L&D) Labor & Delivery
Shift: Days 7am-7pm Nights 7pm-7am

SEASONAL STAFF PROGRAM [Runs through March 26, 2022]

Must have one (1) year of current Labor and Delivery experience

Pay Rate: $70/hour

A completion bonus of $2000 to be paid after the successful completion of 16 consecutive weeks of employment while meeting all shift requirements during that time period. Only one completion bonus will be paid per 36-week season.

Program Requirements

• All Seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.

• Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need.

• Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4-week schedule period.

• During the course of the 16-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee).

• Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There is no guarantee of hours by the hospital.

• Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy.

• All seasonal RNs will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation.

• Current FT, PT, and PRN Level 3 employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2021-22 with the exception of RNs that participated in the 2020-21 Seasonal program.

• Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department.

Qualifications - External

Education / License / Certifications:

  • BSN Required within 24 months of hire
  • Current Texas RN License
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS and ACLS issued by the American Heart Association required
  • Professional Nursing Organization Membership strongly encouraged.
  • Certification in area of specialty preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum 18 months experience within an acute care hospital with a minimum one year in a specialty area.
  • Experienced caring for patients with an intra-aortic balloon pump, continuous renal replacement therapy and/or temperature management devices (intra-vascular or surface) strongly preferred.

Qualifications

Education / License / Certifications:

  • ADN required
  • BSN required within 24 months of hire
  • Current Texas RN License
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS, ACLS and NRP issued by the American Heart Association required
  • Professional Nursing Organization Membership strongly encouraged.
  • Certification in area of specialty preferred.
  • Fetal heart monitoring, AWHONN and other HCA required courses for L&D nurses in accordance with department education schedule.
Experience:
  • Minimum 18 months experience within an acute care hospital with a minimum one year in a specialty area.
Special Demands: Must be willing to float between designated facilities in the EAST POD:
