Cancer Center Faculty

The NCI-designated Cancer Center at Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute is dedicated to recruiting the most brilliant cancer research scientists. We are currently seeking a faculty member (at any level) who is conducting impactful studies of the highest caliber and who is engaged in setting up new paradigms to decrease the burden of cancer. Areas of particular interest include (but not limited to) epigenetics, tumor dormancy and microenvironment, tumor metabolism, immuno-oncology, and cancer drug discovery. Our Cancer Center provides a dynamic setting that supports and stimulates science. A comprehensive support system is provided with collaborative and energetic colleagues. We are committed to recruiting and supporting a diverse scientific community and seek to create a faculty of individuals from different backgrounds with a wide range of perspectives and experiences. Cancer Center faculty are expected to secure support from diverse funding sources to establish rigorous and competitive cancer research programs addressing unmet clinical needs. Faculty are encouraged to partner with our Prebys Center, the Institutes comprehensive center for drug discovery and chemical biology, to advance the development of translational projects. Required Experience Requires a PhD or MD/PhD with outstanding training and research experience. Candidates are expected to have an impressive publication record and exceptional research accomplishments. Proven ability to secure funding is a plus.
