The Department of Cinematic Arts, within the School of Communication at the University of Miami offers an exciting opportunity for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Directing to begin on August 15, 2022. Qualifications: We seek a filmmaker with notable experience directing films with an independent spirit and working with actors. Candidates should have a professional exhibition record. Evidence of teaching experience at the university level is preferred. Successful applicants will demonstrate commitment to equity-forward teaching practices and embrace the values of inclusivity and diversity, both in the classroom and in the field. Expectations: Faculty members will teach five courses per academic year, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and participate in departmental and/or school-wide committees. The successful candidate will be expected to create and exhibit films as a requirement for their progress towards tenure , assisted by university resources. Requirements: A terminal degree MFA or PhD in Film or related field is required.
