The Programs

The Doctor of Audiology program is 11-semesters in length and is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. We also house the Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders and the Doctor of Philosophy in Communication Sciences and Disorders programs. UAMS is Arkansas' only academic health center with seven institutes including the Reynolds Institute on Aging, Stephens Spine Institute, Jones Eye Institute, Myeloma Institute for Research & Therapy, Psychiatric Research Institute, Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, and Translational Research Institute. Responsibilities

Functions and Responsibilities

The Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology in the College of Health Professions at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) seeks applicants for a full-time, 12-month faculty position, located in Little Rock, Arkansas. We are searching for a team-oriented faculty member. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and qualifications. The faculty member will report to the audiology program director in the Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology and will have primary responsibilities of teaching AuD and PhD courses; conducting scholarly activities; directing student research; advising graduate students; participating in university, community and professional service; and supervising graduate students in clinical practicum.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Ph.D. in audiology/hearing sciences (candidates within one year of completion of their doctoral degree requirements will be considered).

2. Eligibility for CCC-A.

3. Eligibility for licensure in the state of Arkansas.

4. Strong commitment to fulfill mission of the department, college, and university.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Expertise in the area(s) of pediatrics, balance assessment/treatment, and/or audiologic rehabilitation.

2. Minimum of one-year clinical experience as a practicing audiologist.

3. University or college teaching and student supervision experience.

4. Ability to develop and conduct an externally-funded research program.
