The Rowan University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM) is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, student-oriented leader with demonstrated success in higher education administration for the position of Associate Dean, Student Affairs. The selected candidate will provide leadership for the integrated delivery of student and enrollment services and supports student achievement initiatives focused on the successful licensure of aspiring veterinarians.
The Associate Dean will serve in a key leadership role in high-level planning on matters pertaining to student body composition, admissions practices and results, financial aid services delivery, academic and career planning, admissions, student wellness, and residency advising. The selected candidate will serve as a leading voice in matters pertaining to student success including, but not limited to orientation, leadership, diversity and inclusion, and international student support. The Associate Dean is administratively responsible for promoting a student body that represents diversity and academic excellence, and fostering an inclusive environment that endorses student achievement, scholarship, and success.
The Associate Dean for Student Affairs is a member of the SVM senior leadership team as well as a member of the faculty, and reports to the Founding Dean for the School of Veterinary Medicine. The selected candidate will play a critical role in facilitating the School's accreditation process.

*Essential Role and Position Responsibilities: *
*Strategic Enrollment Management: *

* Leads the Office of Student Affairs, including Admissions, Financial Aid, Registration, Career Services, and Student Support Services.
* In collaboration with department heads and directors, responsible to plan and implement innovative marketing initiatives for recruitment to academic programs and learning products under the SVM.
* Works closely with the Dean, the advisory council, and faculty across the School to further develop strategies and programs that will position the School to attract and retain highly qualified students and ensure the SVM's place as a leader in the field of veterinary medicine.
* Lead efforts to develop, plan, and execute data-driven enrollment strategies to support the SVM enrollment goals for graduate and professional degree programs.
* Develop data analytics related to the student market, student enrollment and related demographics to support the development of enrollment strategies and the execution of those strategies.
* Create and regularly update admission and enrollment dashboards to monitor admissions and enrollment activity.
* Uses data to define and characterize yield behavior within and between groups (e.g., demographic, socioeconomic, geographic groups) and to generate enrollment yield models for specific groups and types of applicants based on their characteristics.
* Ensure effective development and execution of enrollment marketing initiatives.
* Provide recommendations to improve enrollment performance and support enrollment goals for Admissions and registration goals.
* Develop strategies for financial aid packaging that will support enrollment goals in concert with University Office of Financial Aid.
* Develop strategic planning initiatives related to admissions, enrollment marketing, financial aid and student success and retention.
* Oversee the student life cycle from recruitment through alumni engagement and future lifelong learning initiatives.
* Responsible for related administrative systems for admissions and financial aid, student information, student advising, and communications and marketing.
* Directs the assessment of student success and implements procedures to ensure accountability and sustainability.
* Maintain appropriate evaluative methodology, statistical reports, and other records to assess accomplishments and define departmental needs.
* Promote program mission and vision within and outside of the Rowan SVM.
* Oversee analysis of admissions and enrollment data and prepares presentations and recommendations to SVM and University leadership.
*Student Success: *

* As a central resource supporting the safety and well-being of all Rowan SVM students, promulgates community standards; coordinates communication between campus constituencies and departments and supports programs and activities to advance student learning and facilitates the coordinated support of individual students.
* Works to ensure that Student Affairs policies and processes are consistently and thoughtfully applied in individual student circumstances
* Provides leadership on strategic initiatives prioritized by the Dean, representing the Office of Student Affairs in a variety of contexts.
* Support and oversee student achievement initiatives such as the creation and implementation of learning opportunities focused on successful licensure.
* Collaborate in expanding the student scholarships program to be effective in recruitment of high achieving students.
* Participate in SVM Advisory Council meetings and other special events as appropriate or required to represent the School to other external audiences such as corporate sponsors, stakeholders and leaders.
* Work in close partnership with the other Associate Deans, Department Chairs, and Directors to implement process improvements, planning and program decisions.
* Support alignment/partnerships with colleges, veterinary healthcare systems and community groups to formulate and implement innovative student success models.
* Oversees and coordinates offices, staff, and responsibilities in student affairs.
* Provides oversight of student affairs operating budget.
* Manage all issues regarding student conflict/grievance oversight, and matriculation
* Manage all honor code violations and disciplinary complaints.
* Provide oversight for student government and student professional organizations.
* Provide overall direction for student publications and events.
* Serve as liaison for student government and student professional organizations
* Provide oversight for alumni affairs publications and events.
* Oversee the student health and student mental health programs.
* Coordinate the activities of the student honor council.
* Works with the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs to facilitate the scholarship award selection process for students
* Organize and oversee, the orientation planning and programs including events, selection and training of orientation leaders, program planning, and implementation.
* Provides direction for and fosters collaboration amongst these areas to support academic goals and ensure that incoming and current student needs are met.
* Develops strategy to ensure that belonging and inclusion efforts are infused in all aspects of the student experience within the SVM and attends to the issues of intersectionality within and among SVM students.
* Establish policies and processes as they relate to Student Affairs
* Maintains and ensures compliance to School, University, and Federal rules and guidelines.
* Oversees the department budget.
* Participate in educational planning and policy development in conjunction with the other academic and/or student services deans and administrators.
* Develop, prepare, and monitor the planning and implementation and evaluation efforts of the programs assigned in the Student Services areas.
* Develop and monitor program review for departments/programs including student learning and service area outcomes, assessments, and evaluation of data for the purpose of program improvement.
*Qualifications for the position include* (12-month position):

* DVM or equivalent degree from an AVMA-Accredited institution (required)
* MS or PhD in a related field (preferred)
* An established record of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service appropriate to the rank of Full Professor with tenure
* A documented commitment to excellence in professional veterinary medical education
* Demonstrated expertise in student and enrollment services; knowledge of student matters, including matters pertaining to Title IX and Clery Act, preferred.
* An excellent record in addressing student concerns and managing change along with proven experience as an organizational leader and community builder, specifically around initiatives that promote advocacy, access, inclusion, diversity, equity and belonging.
* Demonstrated experience in responsible enrollment management, admissions and financial aid to develop and review enrollment strategies.
* Understands student behavior and trends within financial aid and admissions.
* Understanding of market differentiation related to student recruitment and enrollment and able to define/characterize yield behavior within and between groups (e.g., demographic, socioeconomic, geographic groups).
* Able to generate statistical enrollment yield models related to specific groups and types of applicants based on their characteristics.
* Understanding of the national trends and issues related to graduate and professional student recruitment in higher education.
* Expertise in translating a vision and strategy into a practical plan with concrete steps of implementation with measurable enrollment outcomes
* Ability to lead teams, communicate with multiple and diverse audiences and individuals, and complete tasks in a complex organizational environment
* Proven commitment to and knowledge of shared governance
* Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
