Job Summary The College of Education (COE) at Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) is seeking a full time, 10 month, Assistant or Associate Dean. The Assistant or Associate Dean, who reports directly to the dean of the college, works in collaboration with the faculty, Clinical Director, and Assessment Director to meet the mission, strategic goals, and standards of accrediting bodies.
Responsibilities

* Provides leadership in planning and implementing College of Education programs. (50%)*Advise and assist with curriculum planning and evaluation functions.Coordinates course offering and faculty schedules.Assist in developing and improving college policies, procedures, rules, etc.Conducts annual faculty performance evaluations.Conducts faculty teaching observationsSupports and mentors faculty and oversees the development of faculty goals and professional learning plansCoordinates graduate education programsAdvises graduate education students, as assignedManages graduate education programs in order to increase enrollmentReviews and attempts to resolve students' academic grievances
*Performs teaching and research. (25%)*Conducts scholarly research for publication and/or presentation.Teaches courses in academic discipline.
*Assists in managing other School activities. (15%)*Maintains relationships with other university Colleges and departments.Represents the College at the state, national, and international level, when the Dean is not available.Provides information to the public about programs and services.
[Performs ]()*a variety of related duties. (10%)*Required Qualifications
Doctoral degree in a course of study related to the occupational field required.More than five years of related experience required.Preferred Qualifications Experience in K-12 schools; demonstrated leadership skills; and ability to interact with diverse students and faculty.
