*Advertised Job Summary:*The Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration is as a key member of the Dean's administrative team and serves as the primary business advisor to the Dean. Promotes a unified view of the College of Pharmacy's interests and aligns work with goals of the college. Plans, organizes, directs, and manages the business operations for the college to include Human Resources, Grants Administration, and Facilities and Procurement. Directs, coordinates, and implements the practices to manage all college funds to include state and federal funds and philanthropic giving in accordance with the policies of the College, UofSC, and State of South Carolina. Communicates College of Pharmacy financial information on a timely basis to the Dean and other personnel as appropriate. Works collaboratively with Assistant/Associate Deans, faculty, and staff. Interprets policies related to approval of fiscal transactions pertaining to personnel, payroll, procurement, expenditure requests, budget formulation and management, to ensure compliance with university and state and federal regulations.
Develops and maintains professional relationships with university officials and personnel. Performs financial activities in accordance with the state and federal regulations, standard financial principles, processes, and accuracy.
*Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):*Bachelor's degree in related field; minimum of five years financial-related experience.

*Preferred Qualifications:*Extensive knowledge of USC accounting system. Thorough knowledge of USC Policies and Procedures, state and federal regulations relating to contracts, grants and procurement. Working knowledge of PeopleSoft, PeopleAdmin, USC Accounting Services Intranet, Data Warehouse, Web-Based-Budgeting.
*Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:*Proficient use of Microsoft Excel, PeopleSoft, and PeopleAdmin. Knowledge of procurement policy and procedures in accordance with the state and federal regulations . Ability to coordinate administrative functions, maintain efficient business & accounting practices, multi-task and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work with frequent interruptions. Must be analytical, possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to exercise good judgment and a willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Good work ethic and professionalism is a must.
