As Occupational Therapy program director and faculty member you will teach at the graduate level, as applicable; lead course and/or curriculum development; admissions; budget; research/scholarship; participate on College and University committees and/or initiatives.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:

* Responsible for the management and administration of the program, including planning, evaluation, budgeting, supervision of faculty and staff, maintenance of ACOTE accreditation, and commitment to strategies for professional development.
* Teaches his/her areas of expertise in the program, and for mentoring students in research, which ideally will be in the area of the candidates' scholarly interests.
* Engages in scholarly activities at the level required to ultimately apply for promotion to the next higher rank.
* Participation in Department, Program and College faculty meetings, and provision of service to the University, College, Department, Program or professional community as their career advances.
* Student advising and community involvement.

* Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications

Doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, EdD, ScD, OTD) in Occupational Therapy or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent accreditation

Licensed in the State of Florida to practice Occupational Therapy (or eligible for state licensure)

A minimum of 8 years of documented experience in the field of occupational therapy. This experience must include:

* Clinical practice as an occupational therapist
* Administrative experience including, but not limited to, program planning and implementation, personnel management, mentorship, evaluation, and budgeting
* Scholarship (e.g., scholarship of application, scholarship of teaching and learning)
* Understanding of the role of the occupational therapy assistant
* At least 4 years of experience in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the postsecondary level

Excellent communication skills and collegial nature

Preferred Qualifications

Eight years of experience with university teaching and administration

Prior Program Director or Department Chair experience

Evidence of faculty mentorship

Content areas of Physical disabilities; Pediatrics; Mental Health; and/or Geriatrics

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Experience or commitment to the use of technology in distance learning & university teaching. Interest in collaborating both within and outside the University in the development and delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning. Must value continued scholarship and service to the school and university.

Ability to contribute to the recruitment and retention of diverse students

Appointment will be made at a faculty rank commensurate with the candidate's experience on a 12-month multi-year appointment basis available August 2022.
