Wichita State University, College of Applied Studies is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Counseling in the Department of Intervention Services & Leadership in Education.
Job duties:
1.Teach graduate courses in the counseling program, including practicum and internship
2.Supervise graduate students in the counseling and play therapy clinics.
3.Develop, foster, and maintain relationships with appropriate entities for referrals/student placements.
4.Maintain a record of scholarly productivity through peer-reviewed publications and presentations
5.Provide service to the profession, community, department, college, and university
Minimum Educational Requirements: An ABD from a CACREP-accredited university in counseling, and/or counselor education (all requirements for the doctorate must be completed by August, 2022).
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Preferred Educational Requirements: Earned Doctorate from a CACREP-accredited university in counseling, and/or counselor education
Minimum Experience Requirements:
Required Licenses/Certifications: LPC Licensure-eligible in the State of Kansas
Preferred Experience Requirements:
1.Experience as a licensed professional counselor or clinical mental health counselor.
2.Evidence of successful teaching experience in a CACREP-accredited program and experience in supervising counseling practicum and internship students.

- Evidence of communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse students and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty and professionals.
Preferred Educational Requirements: Earned Doctorate from a CACREP-accredited university in counseling, and/or counselor education
Minimum Experience Requirements:
- Professional identity as a Counselor Educator as evidenced by affiliations with either/or the American Counseling Association (ACA), American Mental Health Counselor Association (AMHCA), or the Association for Counselor Education & Supervision (ACES).
- Knowledge of CACREP standards.
- Successful experience with diverse populations
