We currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented and innovative Associate Managing Editor to join our Research team in Tokyo. Reporting into the Managing Editor this role will manage and oversee a portfolio of journals through the submission and peer-review stages of the publishing process.

How you will make an impact:
  • Manage and oversee an efficient, ethical peer review process within acceptable timeframes and support journal development
  • Review journal workflows, identifying and implementing changes to improve efficiency and ensure best practice
  • Provide an unsurpassed experience to authors, reviewers, and editors through regular communication and developing a deep understanding of their needs, future visions and potential new opportunities for them
  • Oversee and proactively monitor a team of vendor-based Editorial Assistants
  • Prepare accurate, regular reports to provide journal progress and performance overviews for internal/external recipients as required

  • A high level of customer focus demonstrated through the ability to anticipate customers' needs and exceed expectations
  • A strong track record of achieving and exceeding goals despite potential obstacles or set backs
  • Ability to take quick and decisive action in a fast-paced unpredictable environment
  • Experience in integrating diverse views and finding common ground or acceptable alternatives if conflicts may arise
