FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Psychology Department at the City University of New York, Queens College welcomes applications for an experienced lecturer starting Fall 2022. The candidate will be expected to perform teaching and related faculty functions in the area of general and experimental psychology coursework primarily at the undergraduate level.
Queens College was founded in 1937 and is located in, what has become known as, America's most ethnically diverse county with over 20,000 students attending the college from more than 150 nations. The college serves a diverse population of students and seeks to ensure that diversity is reflected in our teaching, programming, and training. Queens College is consistently ranked among national leading institutions and is boasted as a "Best Value" college for the high quality education the campus provides with its affordable tuition and generous financial aid packages.
The Psychology Department is the largest department on the Queens College campus servicing over 2,000 majors and offering a wide variety of courses aimed at providing students with an understanding of behavior that will later lay the foundation for a career in psychology. The major in psychology prepares students for (a) employment in such settings as residential and treatment programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or (b) higher education such as a Master's program in Applied Behavior Analysis or doctoral program in Clinical Psychology. Students have ample opportunities to join research laboratories in a variety of psychology disciplines with some of the top researchers in the country.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates for the Lecturer position must have a Doctoral degree in psychology or a related field. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. Preference will be given to candidates who have a record of teaching experimental psychology, statistics, developmental psychology and clinical psychology courses. Underrepresented minorities are encouraged to apply.
