The Role:

As the Senior Manager of Method Development, you will be responsible for the day-to -day management and oversight of a team of specialist scientists focused on the development and validation of novel Bioanalytical assays to support the drug development process. A significant part of the Senior Method Development Manager's role is leadership at a site and global functional level and to actively drive forward strategic initiatives and manage key performance indicators to support the growth and improvement of the business. You will also:

  • Provide scientific support and ensure that standards of quality are maintained.
  • Support the Bioanalytical Triage and Commercial team as a Subject Matter Expert for the Immunochemistry business.
  • Provide appropriate procedural and technical training for Immunochemistry staff to develop specific study capabilities.
  • Ensure laboratory schedules are prepared within the team and maintained.
  • Ensure scheduled work is conducted in an efficient and effective manner and in accordance with established laboratory schedules.
  • Provide support for project costing, department forecasting and revenue recognition activities.
  • Support recruitment and training activities across the Immunochemistry Department and lead for Method Development and Validation function.
  • Provide guidance and resource in troubleshooting assays.
  • Be up to date with current developments in the technical and regulatory aspects of bioanalysis.
  • Address client issues and coordinate any cross departmental corrective and preventative action plans that may be required.

Education/Qualificaitons:
  • Relevant scientific degree preferred (or appropriate amount of relevant experience)

Experience:
  • Previous experience of direct line management and excellent proven managerial skills are essential, as the role will involve direct supervision of personnel on a daily basis.
  • Extensive background in development of Bioanalytical assays utilizing Immunochemistry techniques/assay platforms.
  • Computing skills including word processing and use of spreadsheets (e.g. Word, Excel).
  • In-depth understanding of Health and Safety policies, Company Policies and Procedures and an in depth understanding of GLP and GCP.
  • The post holder should be able to communicate effectively at all levels with other Labcorp employees, as well as external Sponsors, suppliers, etc
