OPPORTUNITY
Mammoth is seeking a Principal Scientist I with expertise in computational biology to join its Diagnostics team. This role will lead the development and implementation of solutions to varied data needs across Diagnostic research and development programs.

The successful candidate will contribute towards Mammoth's efforts to develop innovative diagnostic products that enable consumers to access their health information in a timely manner. The Principal Scientist I, Computational Biology will work closely with research teams and will lead the development of software tools and strategies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the development and implementation of software tools for the capture, processing, and analysis of CRISPR diagnostic assay
  • Develop heuristic rules, optimization, and algorithms to improve design and analysis pipelines
  • Build tools to enable bench scientists and other team members to analyze data
  • Develop processes and tools to facilitate data tracking and integration with ELN and LIMS systems from automation platforms
  • Identify and implement new technologies to enable the success of research teams
  • Ensure that software tools are robust and conform to best practices
  • Work with computational and research teams to deliver on project goals
  • Prepare data and content for presentations, white papers, or other company-relevant materials

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • PhD and 6+ years of industry experience
  • Proficiency with Python, R, SQL and tools/libraries for data analysis
  • Experience working with Linux command line and version control tools (git and github)
  • Experience working in cloud environments (i.e. AWS)
  • Extensive experience in bioinformatics tools for sequence retrieval from genome databases, DNA/RNA sequence analysis, and primer design

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Familiarity with CRISPR-Cas literature
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and mathematical models in the interpretation of biological data
  • Experience building ETL pipelines for processing microscopy data
  • Experience with primer and/or gRNA design
  • Experience working on the development of diagnostic assays (510(k), CE-IVD)
  • Strong communication, data visualization, and organization skills
