Genome Engineering Scientist/Lead Researcher

This is an exciting opportunity for a scientist to join our Center for Advanced Genome Engineering (CAGE). The Shondra Pruett-Miller laboratory offers a strong team-based environment where you will work collaboratively with other investigators across the institution to support their research needs and develop and improve genome engineering technologies. As a member of our laboratory, you will also bring in cutting edge protocols to provide newer and better workflows to our genome engineering operations.

Successful candidates should display competencies in the following areas:

• Understanding of and experience with molecular biology

• Extensive experience with cell culture (experience with iPSC, ESC, of HSCs a plus)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent multi-tasking skills

• Ability to work as part of a team

• Able to lead an independent research project

• Screening experience a plus

• Computer programming and/or automated liquid handling experience a plus

• Next generation sequencing library preparation and analysis experience a plus

• Flow cytometry experience is a plus

Minimum Education

• Bachelors degree in relevant scientific area is required.

Minimum Experience

Scientist

• Seven (7) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required.

• Five (5) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required with a Masters degree.

• Three (3) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required with a PhD.

Lead Researcher

• Five (5) years of relevant, post-degree work experience is required with a Bachelors degree.

• Two (2) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required with a Masters degree.

• No experience is required with a PhD degree.
