This is a great opportunity to get hands-on lab experience whether you're just beginning your career or looking to work with new instrumentation and emerging technologies.OverviewAs an Analytical Chemist, you will perform various sample preparation, extraction, and analysis techniques. This role will specialize in the utilization of triple-quadrupole Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) instruments following analytical methods. The analyst will largely be following routine, existing written methods but can expect to assist in some method development as well as project needs change. The ideal candidate will be motivated, energetic, forward thinking, and possess a commitment to excellence.What You'll Do
  • Perform various sample preparation, extraction, and analysis techniques utilizing analytical methods, while maintaining good scientific practices according to test facility requirements and regulatory agencies.
  • Apply various chemistry techniques and scientific methods given the assignment objective (LC, serial dilutions, etc.)
  • Maintains and completes all laboratory documentation in a clear and accurate manner
  • Calibrates instruments and maintains analytical equipment.
  • Compiles data and communicates results through technical reports and accurate notebooking
  • Performs all tasks and procedures in a regulated environment with minimal supervision
  • Always communicates effectively in an absolute professional manner with team members and staff
  • Multi-tasks effectively and performs other essential tasks and responsibilities as assigned
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related scientific discipline required.
  • 1-2 years' experience with LC Mass Spectrometry, calibrations, pipetting, serial dilutions
  • Experience with use of LCMS systems, an understanding of 2-D chromatography, ELISA or spectrophotometer
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills such as communication, relationship building, initiative, adaptable, positive attitude, and team building
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize work effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Data handling, method retrieval, all work must be accurate and timely.
  • Experience in the consumer products, pharmaceuticals or personal care industry is preferred but not required.
  • One to two years of experience working in an FDA/cGMP regulated environment is preferred.
  • Strong foundation in technical problem-solving skills to assist in troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work in an extremely fast paced environment. Must be flexible and be sensitive to changing priorities.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office suite.
