We are seeking to recruit an individual at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor level to an academic appointment as a Nursing Scientist in the College of Nursing at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. This is a tenure-track, 12-month, full-time faculty position. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Salary: offered commensurate with experience

Responsibilities

The candidate will assume teaching responsibilities within the Graduate Program and pursue a program of funded research.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Applicants must hold a PhD in nursing or a related field. If the doctoral degree is not in nursing, then a master's degree in nursing is also required.
  • Must hold an unencumbered RN or advanced practice nursing license with eligibility for licensure in Arkansas.
  • Must also be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Teaching experience in a nursing program, with graduate level teaching experience preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, a robust publications record, presentations at scientific conferences, and evidence of extramural grant funding are required.
  • Evidence of an existing program of research is desired.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate a scholarly focus in oncology, gerontology, pediatrics/adolescent health, psychiatric mental health, or genetics/genomics.
  • A cross-cutting focus on rural health and health disparities is strongly preferred.
