Position Overview

This leader is responsible for overseeing all operations of our Safety & Toxicology site located in Chicago, Illinois. The incumbent will be responsible for building and leading strategies with P&L responsibilities for the site while partnering with corporate colleagues and the on-site team. Based on experience and the leadership capabilities of the candidate, the position offers significant role expansion and upward mobility.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Responsible to oversee the Chicago Safety & Toxicology site operations with P&L responsibilities while contributing to strategic initiatives that drive business value.
  • Responsible for driving continuous improvements in quality, efficiency, and site performance.
  • Lead/Participate in site and corporate strategic development programs.
  • Provide expertise on general toxicology, safety pharmacology and related drug-development non-clinical safety categories in support of drug development programs for our customers.
  • Support as necessary, the analysis, interpretation, integration, and reporting of preclinical safety / toxicology data generated both internally and with external vendors.

Leadership Requirements
  • 15-20 years of experience in the preclinical CRO industry with 5-10 years in leadership roles preferably with P&L responsibilities.
  • High level of interpersonal, management and negotiation skills, and the ability to influence others to take appropriate actions.
  • Strategic planner with sound business skills, analytical ability, good judgement, and problem-solving skills.
  • Creates a culture that encourages engagement, results, and innovation. Recognizes, celebrates and rewards people and teams who take ownership in leading and contributing to growth.
  • Remains calm under pressure and can handle multiple priorities; handles sensitive or difficult issues with grace, respect, and confidence; remains clear-headed, objective, and focused while inspiring others to do the same.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to represent Frontage in industry forums including conferences.

Professional Experience
  • PhD & DABT with at least 15 years of experience working in the pharmaceutical or CRO industry.
  • Management experience including team building, leadership of technical teams, and project management in a GLP-compliant CRO.
  • Experience in Developmental and reproductive toxicology is preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge, experience, and the leadership in the CRO industry.
