  • Biology experience including, but not limited to, the following: mammalian cell culture techniques, cell passaging and cryopreservation of adherent and suspension cells
  • Transfection of plasmid/viral-based reporter constructs followed by transient and stable cell line generation
  • Execution of non-radioactive cell-based assays including, but not limited to the following: cell proliferation, cytokine secretion, reporter assays, ELISAs, western blots
  • mRNA isolation from cells and tissues
  • Assessment of gene expression and knock down by TaqMan
  • Providing technical leadership in cell culture and cell assays
  • Providing technical leadership in various cell-based and biochemical in vitro assays
  • Responsible for timely delivery & documentation of assay data in electronic Notebooks
  • Capable of balancing multiple tasks at once while delivering the highest standard of quality data
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Capable of independently planning and conducting experiments, generating data, interpreting results, and documenting the work.
  • Have ability of identifying and helping troubleshoot issues.
  • Self-management, task planning and organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to foster an environment for learning and open/honest communication.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment incorporating a variety of functional relationships
  • Ability to learn new assays with guidance
Qualifications
  • B.S. with 2 years minimal research experience in Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular/Cell Biology or related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of pharmaceutical industry experience or MS degree in immunology or molecular/cell biology is preferred
  • Ability to work well in a team environment incorporating a variety of functional relationships
