You will deliver world class teaching and research in the area of Graphic and Communication Design, supporting the continuing development of the School of Design as a sector leading centre with innovation at its core. This is a design/creative driven role, and you will have experience as a designer and research expertise in graphic and communication design applied across a range of sectors. You will have knowledge of how to develop innovative practice and research utilising a range of digital media, software and techniques, and experience of how creative graphic and communication design solutions can be applied to both commercial and non-commercial settings. In addition, you will have links with industry and be able to develop a strong network of engagement with the regional graphic and communication design sector.

You will have a PhD in Graphic and Communication Design (or close to completion with the PhD thesis to be submitted by 2022) and have a developing record of research in this area, commensurate with the level of the post and a clear indication of the ability to achieve internationally recognised standards of excellence. You will be a committed teacher and an outstanding communicator able to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate taught study in the areas of graphic design, communication design, as well as information design, digital and interactive design and creative design in general. You will also contribute to teaching and administrative activities in general.
